Swakopmound - Adrenaline city

So we have arrived in Swakop and it is great, we are in a hostel, so no camping for 3 whole nights, woohoo. This afternoon most of us are off on a quadbiking adventure around the magnificent sand dunes of Namibia, and then tomorrow morning it's time for Sandboarding down the dunes, and then tomorrow afternoon a few of us are off skydiving. Basically we are here to do as much adrenaline activities as we can, so that is what I am doing... :)
Over the last few days, since Windhoek, we went to Etosha National Park, where we camped by waterholes which were floodlit over night, so we were able to stay up and watch the animals come in to drink. It was pretty amazing actually, the first night there were lots of Elephants and it was interesting to see the other animals all standing back until the Elephants were finished before coming in to drink.
During the day we really didn't see to many animals other than Springbok and other antelope, as it was just too hot during the day, but we changed campsites and on the second night, we saw a heard of about 16 giraffes coming to the water hole for a drink, which was so funny , they are the most awkward animals it is just so funny to see.
Anyway after the Giraffes, came the black Rhinos, which was so spectacular as they are so rare and, they were so much smaller than I was expecting, anyway, while the Rhino's were drinking, a group of 3 male lions came to have a drink too. It was so exciting, and I tried desperately to take some pictures, but being 10pm and dark and far away, you really have to use your imagination a little bit :)
So after Etosha, we headed off to Spitzkope, a rock formation in the middle of the Namibian desert, it was amazing as it was so much like Ayres Rock, in the middle of Namibia. We actually went for a guided walk around and over the rock formations and were shown some ancient rock art from the original bushmen inhabitants of the area.
It was so cool cambing next to these rocks, although being in the middle of the desert, it got so cold that night, I think we were all suprised about how cold it got after the last few weeks of 30+ days.
Anyway I have to go Quad biking now, and I'm not sure if I'll get to a computer before Capetown, but I'm sure I'll be having a good time :)
